Are we nearly there yet??...

Well there's only one week left and all is calm...all is well, I've made it...well almost...
Its back to school next week and back to the old routine...I'm happy and sad at the same time, happy to be getting a few peaceful/childless hours back but sad to be losing the care-free/not having to rush/holiday-mode days. I'm not saying that everyday's been 'a walk in the park' but its not been as crazy-stressful as I thought it would be. The weather's played a HUGE part in this...the first four weeks of the hols was nothing but warm sunny days and we all know how the weather can make or break a holiday..especially a school holiday!
So we have made the most of it, we got out of the house as much as we could, days out, a weekend camping, bike riding, days spent at the park and a lovely weekend in London for a visit to Legoland Windsor.

We had a fantastic day... the place is huge and there is so much to see and do, we arrived at ten and didn't leave until half six, you really do need a day or two to see it all...don't think my poor feet could handle two days though!

this is the last ride we went on...your seated in pairs and you work together to pull yourselves to the top with the rope, then when you reach the top, you let go of the rope and just drop!!...and at the same time the whole thing is rotating...boy did this make my stomach flip...and not in a 'nice butterfly-flutter kinda way'... I could not wait for it to end...of course my four year old daughter loved it...she was laughing and squealing with excitement...'higher higher' she shouted.

The next day before we headed back home we had a drive around London and did abit of sight-seeing before we left, the kids loved it, especially the Tower of London and Big Ben...which we reached just in time to hear chime...and just a few minutes before my camera's battery died on me! : ( so here's some pics of London made completely from lego... Enjoy!

The London eye and st Pauls Cathedral

Old Wembley stadium
Piccadilly Circus

Big Ben

Tower Bridge

Buckingham Palace...we didn't make as far as the real palace, maybe next time : )

The kids are alright...

Today is the first day of the school holidays and we are up bright and early as per usual...well it is only the first day, hopefully  there will be a lie-in somewhere down the line, just gotta wait for the normal routine to wear off!
SIX... BIG... FAT... whole weeks lay before us...and I'm ready for it, come what may, because it will, and all you can do is...

I've learned from past holidays that no matter how much you plan, prepare and pray...you are wasting your time because you cannot escape it, its all around you...its at the parks, the cinema's and every supermarket car park you visit. It's there time now and they will take everything over and not all the best planning in the world will save you from it so its best to get used to the F word now...cos your gonna be hearing it alot....So bring on the FUN times...and if all else fails I always revert to my back up motto....

Happy weekend folks  ; )

Here come the girls...

I've done it, I have finally done it!...I couldn't do it as soon as I would have liked as I was on my holidays but as soon as I got back I was there. I was very good, I didn't read any of the reviews, I ignored the comments I heard and I went to see for myself...And I can honestly say I loved every single minute of it. I went to see it with my best friend...a friend who has shared my passion for it from the very beginning, we arrived early, got our tickets, we killed time in the bar, neither of us had a drink we were far too excited, and when it was finally time we got our popcorn found our seats and it began...and they felt like the best seats ever...

I'm not going to go into detail about the film, I wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone who has not seen it yet, but I will say, ignore the hype and go see it and then decide for yourself, as an original fan from way back when it all began I was not disappointed one bit, I didn't go with any expectations, I don't care where it was or wasn't shot, I just really enjoyed it for what it was because at the end of the day...they are still the same four women in one of the best TV shows of our time, only difference now is were watching it on a much bigger screen!
